Xfrog Tune
XfrogTune is used to greatly reduce the complexity of branching structures of trees, with minimal noticeable artifacts. XfrogMLOD, the software behind XfrogTune, can be licensed for realtime use. Please contact us for more information and code fragments from XfrogMLOD. XfrogTune works with any Xfrog model that is constructed with tree and leaf components, and allows the user to change the polygon complexity while intelligently retaining the overall look of the model, by employing specific visual perception tricks, and by dropping polygons that are non-critical such as secondary and tertiary levels of branching which are usually hidden, dropping leaves in a random patterns and enlarging remaining leaves when the model is in the distance to keep exact overall shape and the relationship of foliage to branches intact. We suggest that you download the XfrogTune zip which contains a step by step tutorial to see how applicable XfrogTune is for your specific needs.
